Information we collect
Information you give us
When you use our contact form, we collect your full name, email address, WhatsApp number and your message. We use these only to read and answer your message, by email or WhatsApp. We do not sell them and we do not pass them to employers.
Information collected automatically
- Server and security logs: like most websites, our hosting and security providers record your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for and the time of the request. We use this to keep the site running and to block abuse.
- Cookies and similar technologies: small files stored on your device by us and by our advertising partners. See “Cookies and advertising” below.
- Analytics: we may use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and which guides are useful. It reports totals and trends, not your identity. Where consent is required, it follows the choice you make in our consent message.
How we use information
- To answer messages sent through the contact form.
- To show advertising that pays for the free guides.
- To measure and improve the site.
- To protect the site against spam, fraud and attacks.
- To meet legal obligations.
Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
We rely on your consent for advertising and analytics cookies; on steps you ask us to take when we reply to your message; and on our legitimate interests in running a secure website.
Cookies and advertising
This site shows ads served through Google AdSense, Google Ad Manager and Google Ad Exchange. Google and other third-party vendors use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this site and other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this and other sites. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising from Google in My Ad Center.
- You can opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.
- If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will be less relevant to you.
Your consent choices
Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland see a consent message from Google’s consent management platform (certified under the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework). You can accept, reject or choose purposes and vendors. Visitors in US states with privacy laws can opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information through the message shown to them.
You can change your choice at any time:
You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings.
Sharing your information
We share information only with:
- Advertising partners such as Google, as described above and only within your consent choices.
- Service providers that host, secure and deliver this website.
- Authorities, if the law requires it.
We never sell the details you send through our contact form.
How long we keep information
We keep contact form messages only as long as we need them to answer you and keep a record of the conversation, then delete them. Server logs are kept for a short time for security. Cookie lifetimes are set by each provider and shown in the consent message.
International transfers
Our providers, including Google, may process data in countries outside your own. They use safeguards such as standard contractual clauses where the law requires them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct or delete it;
- object to or restrict how we use it;
- withdraw consent at any time;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (US state laws);
- complain to your local data protection authority.
To use any of these rights, send a request through our Contact page. We reply within 30 days and never charge for a request.
Children
This site is not aimed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use HTTPS across the site and limit who can access contact form messages. No website is completely secure, so please do not send passwords, passport numbers or bank details through our form.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our site or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
